Alaska Statehood, 50 years!

I was watching Jeopardy the other night when they were talking about a 1970's music clue and was amazed that I forgot! Then a TV advertisement came on (something I did remember) about the great Alaska Birthday - they are 50 years old as a statehood member this year, I was younger then but I remember the hoopla surrounding Statehood. It is a fabulously beautiful place to go and visit, you won't forget your trip. Make it a point to go this Summer and early Fall and take advantage of the specials, not only on trips but also all the ones available to you from local merchants. There is fishing for a Big king Salmon, cruising the Inside Passage and seeing Glaciers, rides up mountain passes in small "old time" railroad trains. Experiences not to be missed.
